Michelin Tour
Design a tire. It’s round. It’s black. It has a hole in the middle. Sound like a boring design assignment?
There are 184 tire companies producing thousands of different tires a year in hundreds of different sizes and tread patterns. This product has to perform on vehicles from Alfa to Zagato, in countries from America to Zanzibar. It has to perform in wet, dry, snow, sand, on rocks, racetracks and farms. It is essential to the space shuttle’s success. It is the only point of contact between the driver and the road on everything from tricycles to Earthmovers. It has to respond to inputs from both experts and novices. Its failure can be catastrophic. To the Michelin Design Group, consistently creating unique products in this intense arena is the ultimate design challenge – the purest blend of form and function.
Our guest will have the privilege of exploring one of downtown Greenville's hottest new attractions "Michelin on Main". This unique retail experience features Michelin-inspired products along with multimedia presentations and unique displays. We will conclude with a presentation of how the Michelin Industrial Design team implements the design process into the products that we manufacture.

After tour social
We will conclude our day of tours with a social at one of Greenville's night time hot spots.
